Pet Microchipping
At Town Center Animal Hospital, we are happy to offer microchipping.
Pet Microchipping in Las Vegas, NV
A microchip is a tiny object that stores specific identifying data about a pet. It has a code that matches the pet owner’s contact information and is about the grain size of rice. This makes it possible to restore lost pets or cats to their proper homes immediately.
Pet Microchipping
One in three pets will get lost at some point in their lifetime. Without identification, 90% will not return home. The Home Again Microchip is a safe, non-migrating microchip with an unalterable 10-digit code that lasts the entire life of your pet. The chip is approximately the size of a grain of rice and is injected between your pet’s shoulder blades. While collars with identification tags are strongly recommended for all cats and dogs, they can be lost or removed, leaving the lost pet without verifying its owner.
Most shelters and animal hospitals now have microchip scanners by which they can identify an animal that has a chip, so long as the owner has registered that chip. There is a registration form that must be filled out and mailed in along with a one-time registration fee. However, Town Center Animal Hospital waives the registration fee for all clients. Without this registration, the chip is rendered useless. The Home Again Pet Recovery Service works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, to facilitate the recovery of lost pets.
